After a decade assisting founders and early stage companies in the tech creator space, Abbee took a ginormous detour into van life. Combining her passion for the outdoors with her entrepreneurial spirit, Abbee launched Salt Vans with a vision of encouraging people to get outside and enjoy the freedom and flexibility that van travel offers, while keeping an emphasis on giving back to organizations that are important to them. When she's not daydreaming up van designs, Abbee enjoys backcountry skiing, gathering with friends and family, and getting buried in a good book.

Mick O'Donnell, Build Manager - Mick O'Donnell's career includes decades of custom residential building throughout the world. A native of County Mayo, Ireland, Mick is a master craftsman with impeccable attention to detail. Mick collaborates with the entire crew here at Salt Vans, turning conceptual ideas into reality. When Mick isn't busy designing spaces with purpose and creating beautiful pieces by hand, he can be found playing in the woods with his boys — hunting, fishing and skiing are just a few of the things they love most.

Mike Akeroyd, Systems Build Manager -Mike Akeroyd, came east from San Diego back in 2009 to attend The Landing School of Boat Building and like many of us, fell in love with the state. With a degree in Marine Technology, Mike immediately recognized the seamless transition from boat systems to vans. Applying his expertise, Mike is constantly thinking about new ways to improve and refine our builds. Mike credits his mentors over the years for teaching him the importance of quality craftsmanship and taking pride in your work. During his free time, Mike enjoys hiking, skiing, traveling and just making cool stuff.

Mark Butterfield, Senior Builder - Mark Butterfield, the only native Mainer in our crew, brings over a dozen years of custom woodworking to Salt Vans. His calm demeanor and attention to detail is ideal while focusing on tiny space finishes. A music enthusiast, Mark also happens to be the official shop DJ, always introducing us to a wide range of artists. When he’s not mixing up tunes and building vans, Mark enjoys spending time with his young family in Cape Elizabeth.
